Hillsboro


Hillsboro is a fast-growing suburb located just 20 minutes west of downtown Portland. In the mid-1800s early pioneers recognized the area’s agricultural richness and established thriving farming and timber industries. With the arrival of the railroad, Hillsboro became the breadbasket of Portland, supplying the city with dairy, fruits, vegetables and wood products. Surrounding communities include Forest Grove, Cornelius and Beaverton.

Hillsboro is the government seat of Washington County and a thriving center of the agriculture industry. Aptly named the heart of the Silicon Forest, Hillsboro is home to many technologically based companies including Intel. OUTDOOR SANCTUARY

Hillsboro is a golfer’s paradise, with nine golf courses. Praised as one of the nation’s premier courses, Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club was the backdrop of Tiger Woods’ third consecutive U.S. Amateur Championship. Tucked in the foothills of the Tualatin Mountains and surrounded by dense fir, maple and oak trees, the course’s challenging layout demands strategy and accuracy. Hillsboro also hosts several sport complexes and recreational parks including Jackson Bottom Wetland Preserve, a resource for education and home to numerous species of birds.
