Montavilla


Montavilla, which stands for Mt. Tabor Villa, is a cozy little community in SE Portland. In the 1890s the neighborhood was named Mt Tabor Village and was a stopping point for travelers going from Hood River into Portland. Today, Montavilla is an active neighborhood with craftsman style homes and a commercial district.

 

VIBE AND STYLE

The incredible sense of community in Montavilla has made it a fast-growing neighborhood. The community has an active neighborhood association and its own weekly newspaper. A large percentage of the houses are occupied by owners but rental properties are available throughout the neighborhood. Many Portlanders choose Montavilla as the place to raise their family.

 Amenities along SE Stark include a discount movie theater, yoga studio and wellness center, a café, music venue, and sports bar. Montavilla neighbors have easy access to Mt. Tabor Park, a 190 acre landmark of Portland. Mt. Tabor, the only active volcano within city limits in the United States, makes Montavilla irresistible to bikers and hikers.
