Named after the Sabin School, the Sabin neighborhood was formed in 1968 and has grown into one of the most ethnically and economically diverse neighborhoods in Portland. Located in Northeast, Sabin is bordered by Vernon, King, Irvington, Alameda and Concordia. 

VIBE AND STYLE

You will find East Portland style homes, including Old Portland foursquare and Craftsman bungalows, while walking through the streets of Sabin. The neighborhood is positioned around the school and local businesses and is filled with active and vibrant residents. Only .37 square miles, Sabin provides residents with a sense of closeness within this tight knit community while still being close to some of the most popular areas in Portland.

LOCAL SCENE

On a walk down Fremont Street, you will find coffee shops, restaurants, and local taverns. If you like to cook at home, you can buy your fresh and healthy ingredients at one of the local markets in the area. The Sabin SUN School is a neighborhood hub where residents across the community discuss solutions to ensure local families and children have the tools they need, in school and life, to be successful.   

OUTDOOR SANCTUARY

The Sabin School Garden gives students the opportunity to learn about gardening and healthy food. Students also have the privilege of having the Sabin Community Native Garden serve as an outside classroom. The Sabin Community Garden is located in the southeast portion of the Sabin HydroPark, an open space that has a playground, picnic tables and benches. Neighbors can also enjoy the Ariadne Garden and Sabin Community Orchard.
