Montavilla


Montavilla, which stands for Mt. Tabor Villa, is a cozy little community in SE Portland. In the 1890s the neighborhood was named Mt Tabor Village and was a stopping point for travelers going from Hood River into Portland. Today, Montavilla is an active neighborhood with craftsman style homes and a commercial district.

The incredible sense of community in Montavilla has made it a fast-growing neighborhood. The community has an active neighborhood association and its own weekly newspaper. Montavilla neighbors have easy access to Mt. Tabor Park, a 190 acre landmark of Portland. Mt. Tabor, the only active volcano within city limits in the United States, makes Montavilla irresistible to bikers and hikers.
