The Hasson Company's Broadway Branch Helped Homeless Family Find Their Way Home This Past Holiday Season
Date: January 11, 2008
The Hasson Company recently announced that its Broadway branch assisted in the housing of a homeless family through JOIN, a local organization committed to helping homeless individuals throughout the Portland area transition into permanent housing. The real estate branch raised $2,500 and donated a complete set of household items necessary for the family to move in to their new home.
"For the second year in a row, we as an office helped a Portland area family find a home for the holidays," says Chris Bonner, broker with the company's Broadway branch and organizer of the fundraising efforts. "As real estate professionals, we feel it is our duty to give back to our communities."
JOIN is a local association whose mission is to help create a community where homelessness is short-term circumstance rather than a long-term or chronic condition. Through outreach, volunteers and retention staff, the organization helped 470 individuals find homes last year. More than 80 of those individuals were children. "The Hasson Company is committed to building stronger communities," says Joe Menashe, managing principal broker of the Broadway branch. "Our agents are dedicated to making a difference through bettering the lives of individuals and families."
