Neighborhood Spotlight: The West End

For many years this section of downtown (from about Southwest 10th Avenue to the 405 freeway) was characterized by rougher elements and run-down buildings. The arrival of the artsy-chic Ace Hotel and introduction of the Portland Streetcar have helped rejuvenate this district. Portland Metro Real Estate Statistcs: July 2017

Across the metro area, July's average sale price is up 2.3% compared to June's average sale price, $517,257 vs. $505,544 respectively. In comparison to the same time last year, the average sale price is up 9.3%.

In comparison to last month:

  • The number of new listings is down 12.6%
  • The number of homes sold is down 10.1%
  • And the number of homes pending is down 6.9%

In comparison to the same time last year:

  • The number of new listings is down 2.6%
  • The number of homes sold is up 3.7%
  • And the number of homes pending is down 3.3%

YTD (Year to Date):

  • The number of new listings is down 0.9%
  • The number of homes sold is down 2.9%
  • And the number of homes pending is down 6.1%

The 2017 YTD average sale price is up 8.0% in comparison to the 2016 YTD average sale price. $498,467 vs $461,601 respectively
