Vancouver

Vancouver is a fast growing city with a population of approximately 166,000 and is located across the Columbia River from Portland. After Lewis and Clark explored the area, interest in the region rapidly increased and attracted settlers migrating west. With the establishment of the Hudson’s Bay Company and Fort Vancouver, the city became a major civic center and was officially incorporated in 1846. Surrounding communities include Southcliff and Lincoln.

Vancouver is full of urban green spaces and parks. There are 44 miles of multi-use trails intertwining throughout, where you’ll find families walking dogs or exercise enthusiasts running and hiking. Esther Short Park is a popular summertime hotspot with amphitheater concerts, a community plaza and water play fountain. Some of the best fishing is located nearby providing fishermen the opportunity to catch steelhead, salmon and sturgeon.
