Situated atop the picturesque West Hills of Portland, the Forest Heights neighborhood enjoys some of the best views in the city. The land and surrounding territory weren’t settled until after the Oregon Donation Land Act of 1850. The area was purchased by developers in 1969, but construction did not commence until 1983, making this development one of Portland’s newest.
Panoramic views, meticulous landscaping and luxurious Portland homes make Forest Heights a premier neighborhood. Known as extremely upscale, the area exudes a sophistication and elegance that is impossible to replicate. Residents possess a high level of pride and work hard to maintain exceptional standards in their homes and community.
Although Forest Heights is a contemporary development, a diverse selection of remarkable and impressive homes exists. The Forest Heights Architectural Review Committee strives to maintain an attractive mix of architecture, colors and landscapes to preserve the neighborhood’s signature style. Residents can choose from classic Northwest, Colonial, Mediterranean, contemporary or Victorian-inspired homes, each accompanied by spectacular views of western sunsets.
Keeping with its premium standards, business establishments are precisely located in the heart of the neighborhood at the Forest Heights Village Center. A carefully selected variety of restaurants and merchants provide convenience for residents and host community events throughout the year including holiday celebrations, music concerts and art exhibits.
Juxtapose to the area’s sophisticated appeal is the historic and legendary Skyline Burger, serving some of the best burgers in Portland. Choose from a menu of classically prepared savory American meals and desserts while enjoying the restaurants retro atmosphere. For more dining or shopping options NW 23rd Street district is just minutes away.
Forest Heights’ unique location, 700 feet above sea level, affords plenty of hiking, running and walking opportunities. You’ll find residents utilizing the meticulously maintained trail system consisting of 27 trailheads and roughly six miles of gravel trails. Families flock to the popular Mill Pond Park and nearly a third of the area’s total acreage is dedicated as common green space.
