Bend

Bend is a dynamic city located in central Oregon near the foothills of the majestic Cascade Mountains. The expansive meadows and dense forests first attracted pioneers in the mid-1800’s. The area slowly developed into a small community supported by growing ranching and timber industries, and was officially incorporated in 1905. Designated the county seat of Deschutes County, the city became a significant logging station and thus experienced rapid economic growth. The quaint community of Tumalo is located ten miles to the northwest.

Bend is an inviting mountain town with a cosmopolitan appeal. Empowered by small businesses and savvy entrepreneurs, the area’s economy has seen substantial growth. With an extensive list of activities, Bend is an outdoor enthusiast’s year-round playground. Experiencing an average 30 feet of snow per year, visitors flock to popular Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort. Ranked as one of the top 50 Ski Resorts in North America by Conde Nast Travel, the resort provides snowbound entertainment for a variety of people. Activities include skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sledding and sleigh rides. In the warmer seasons, ride through miles of marked trails on all terrain vehicles, bike through miles of trails, or raft down the adventurous Deschutes River.
