Donald Falk was born in Houston, Texas and is the middle child of three born to Ruby and Ben Falk. Donald's mother owned and operated a small bookkeeping and real estate office for as long as he can remember. Real estate has been a part of Donald's vocabulary all his life. 'Mom used to say 'if you've got real estate, you've got money in the bank.'"
He attended Texas A & M University in College Station, Texas where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets majoring in journalism. In 1975, he received his Bachelor of Arts degree.
Donald returned to Houston and worked in the customer service and accounts department of an independent oil products packaging and distribution company. His experience in that position led to administrative services opportunities with international engineering giants Brown & Root, Inc., Bechtel, Inc. and Gulf Interstate Engineering.
Following a successful career in the oil and gas industry, Donald ventured down a new path as a manufacturer's representative, selling furniture and textiles to the architectural and interior design communities. It was during this period of his career that he developed and nurtured an appreciation for design and interior aesthetics.
In 1992, Donald moved to Portland with his life partner Harold Rains. He joined a business networking organization and served as a volunteer for various community service organizations. He met several real estate professionals and was encouraged to put his skills and energy into the pursuit of a career in real estate. Donald was licensed in March, 1993 and hasn't looked back.
Donald joined The Hasson Company in 1999 as an Associate Broker. Throughout his career and now as a Broker, he has been a consistent multimillion dollar producer. Donald's commitment to the community and outstanding service has earned him the respect of clients, customers and colleagues alike.
Donald and Harold have been partners for over 30 years. They live in southeast Portland and are both active community volunteers and fundraisers. Commitment and service are truly a way of life.
