Print Agent BioWhether you are looking to buy or sell in the greater Portland area, I believe you deserve to work with someone who is trustworthy, patient, a good listener and who works tirelessly on your behalf. I believe that while this business involves big life choices, buying and selling real estate should be fun. I like to have fun.
In high school, I interviewed a friend's mom about her real estate career for a school assignment. I remember asking her about her favorite part of the job. Without hesitation, she said; "People think real estate is about buying and selling buildings, but it's actually about people. I like helping people." All these years later, I think about those words daily as I help people solve problems, accomplish goals, and embark on new adventures.
Houses are nice. But it's about people.
I like people, and people seem to like me - so, it works out pretty well! Before becoming a realtor, I spent 15 years facilitating Social-Emotional Learning programs in elementary schools. Turns out, teaching kids life skills like active listening, stress management and conflict resolution helped prepare me for a career in residential real estate.
I was born in St Louis, but grew up in the Bay Area where I met my wife and we started our family. Seeking a better quality of life and an ideal place to raise our son led us to Portland. We knew instantly we had made the right choice; we love the Pacific Northwest and all it has to offer an active family. I dedicated myself to finding the perfect home for our family. I took this role very seriously and began poring over listings, neighborhood statistics, school ratings, and crime reports. I learned a lot, and I had fun too! Portland is truly a city of neighborhoods and I delighted in the exploration of the uniqueness of each one. We eventually settled in Eastmoreland, which has proven to be a great fit for us.
I love the beautiful architecture that is found throughout the PNW. In fact, owning an older home with real character is one of the things that drew us to Portland in the first place. When I'm not hosting open houses, or helping a client find their perfect home, most weekends you'll find me maintaining and restoring our 1915 Craftsman bungalow. Working on my own home has provided me both a great sense of pride but my knowledge and experience as a handyperson has also proven to be a valuable asset to my clients.
Get in touch with me today, I'd love to hear about your plans and explore how I can help you achieve your goals.

"This post is long overdue but I’ll start with something simple and to the point: Dan is the best realtor I have ever worked with, and it’s not even close.
Last year, my wife and I decided to move to Portland, Oregon. We coincidentally met Dan at an open house and knew instantly that we would want to work with him once the time was right to buy. While we bonded over mutual interests, we decided to work with Dan because he was warm, laid back, incredibly helpful and honest - all traits you’d want in somebody when helping you buy a home.
After “signing up” with Dan as our realtor, he regularly went above and beyond in helping us with whatever we needed. Video tour of a random house in the middle of the week? Dan could do it. Recommendations on neighborhoods with great local dive bars? Dan could do it. Explaining complex real estate jargon? Dan could do it. Constantly reassuring us that everything would be ok? Dan could do it.
After a few months of searching, Dan helped us find what turned out to be our dream home. Because we were selling a house at the same time as buying, our process was very complex. Dan was alongside us every step of the way, providing constant support to two admittedly anxious buyers.
Since moving into our home, Dan has continued to help us integrate into our new city, providing great recommendations on movers, gardeners, painters, you name it. He has truly gone above and beyond every step of the way.
Now, a few months in as Portland residents, Dan and I are planning on when we’ll meet up for drinks next. I never expected to make a friend out of this process, but I was wrong. Dan is a great realtor, but he’s also a great friend.
We don’t plan on selling our new house for a very long time, but when we do- our choice of realtor will be an easy one. As long as we’re in Portland, we’ll always have a friend and a realtor in Dan."

"Dan is more than an amazing broker, he is an incredible human being. The whole process was easy and simple on our end because Dan really helps you understand what you need to know.
He came recommended to us by a friend and I think that really made of the difference. There was never a second during our time with Dan that made us feel like our intentions were not first. He really, truly cares about others and it shows.
We will definitely be recommending him to anyone else who needs a home!"
