7 Crabbing Tours to Take Near Cannon Beach, Oregon

  |  Cannon Beach, Neighborhood Insight

While you can crab along the Oregon coast all year long, most locals will tell you that the fall is the best time to go. Beginning in September, crabs will tend to be more “filled out” and there will be a higher percentage of quality meat.

If you live in Cannon Beach, odds are you’ve been crabbing before. But if you’ve never gone or you want to learn from a true master, consider booking a local crabbing tour! Our position along the coast means we’re home to tons of knowledgeable anglers and crabbers that offer tours and workshops to help you learn the ins and outs of this niche hobby. And, as an added bonus, most companies offer fish filleting and crab cooking after the tour.

We rounded up a few crabbing tours you can take within an hour’s drive of Cannon Beach. Have a clawsome time!

While some touring companies sell Oregon fishing licenses in-house, not all of them do. We recommend contacting your tour company ahead of time to see which license you will need and get information on where to purchase them around town.
