Holiday Drink Guide

Holiday parties are about to be taking over your calendar (if they haven’t already) and you can bet that each will have their own variation of a holiday friendly concoction to sip on. If you want to suggest something other than eggnog, or are hosting a party of your own, check out some of our favorite alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages below. Enjoy!


Cranberry & Cinnamon Whiskey Sour

2 cups fresh cranberries

2 cups water

2 cups sugar

2 cinnamon sticks

¾ cup bourbon or whiskey

½ cup lemon juice

¼ cup orange juice

¼ cup lime juice

Ice cubes & cocktail shaker for mixing



Step 1: In a medium-sized saucepan add cranberries, water, sugar, and cinnamon sticks and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Step 2: Reduce to a simmer and continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries have burst open and can easily be stirred into the syrup, resulting in a smooth consistency. This will take about 10 minutes.

Step 3: Once done, remove syrup from heat. Fit a large bowl with a fine mesh strainer and strain the simple syrup, leaving all of the large chunks and skin behind.

Step 4: Let cool for at least 10 minutes before using.

[Make simple syrup ahead of time to make the cocktail making go quickly and smoothly]

Step 5: When ready to make your cocktails, add 3/4 cup simple syrup, whiskey, lemon juice, orange juice, lime juice, and a large handful of ice to a cocktail shaker and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.

Step 6: Divide into 4 glasses and serve at once.

Holiday Spiced Mulled Wine

1 bottle of red wine (pinot noir, cabernet, merlot)

⅓ cup brandy

¼ cup honey

1 orange, sliced

1 pink lady apple, sliced (seeds removed)

3 whole cloves

1 cinnamon stick

2 star anise



Step 1: Add all of the ingredients to a medium saucepan or dutch oven. Cover.

Step 2: Turn burners to medium heat and let simmer for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Serve!


Festive Cranberry Margaritas

3 oz. tequila

2 oz. Cointreau (or other orange liqueur)

2 oz. cranberry juice

3 T. fresh lime juice



Step 1: Fill cocktail shaker with ice and add tequila, Cointreau, and both juices.

Step 2: Shake well and strain into ice-filled glasses.

Step 3: Garnish with rosemary sprigs, cranberries and lime wedges, if desired.

Step 4: Serve immediately.


The North Pole

4 ounces vodka

2 ounces Kahlúa or more to taste

4 tablespoons chocolate syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla

3 teaspoons molasses

⅛ teaspoon ginger

½ cup heavy cream or whole milk

whipped cream candy canes and gingerbread cookies, for serving (optional)



Step 1: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the vodka, Kahlúa, chocolate syrup, vanilla, molasses, and ginger.

Step 2: Shake until combined well and strain into 4 glasses.

Step 3: Top off each glass with heavy cream. Dollop with whipped cream and garnish as desired.

Step 4: DRINK!


Moscow Reindeer Cocktails

handful of fresh mint (or fresh peppermint)

2 oz vodka

juice of 1/2 a lime

6 oz ginger beer (more or less to taste)

crushed candy cane- for garnish

whole candy cane- for garnish

crushed ice



Fill copper mule mug with crushed ice and handful of mint. Muddle.

Stir in vodka, lime juice and top with ginger beer.

Sprinkle crushed candy cane on top and garnish with a whole candy cane.


Cranberry Lime Moscow Mule Mocktail

3 TBS Cranberry Juice (Per Mug)

Juice of 1 Lime Wedge (Per Mug)

¾ C. Gingerale (Per Mug)



Step 1: Fill your Mugs 3/4s of the way with Ice.

Step 2: In this order; Add Cranberry Juice, Lime Juice, and Gingerale.

Step 3: Garnish with cranberries and lime wedges.

Step 4: Enjoy!


Spiced Cranberry Cider

5 cups apple cider or apple juice

5 cups cranberry juice

1 ½ cups guava juice or mango nectar

¼ cup lime juice

1 teaspoon ground ginger

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ teaspoon ground allspice

Honey (optional)

Lime slices (optional)


Step 1: In a 4-quart Dutch oven, combine apple cider, cranberry juice, guava juice, lime juice, ginger, cinnamon, and allspice.

Step 2: Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. If desired, sweeten to taste with honey.

Step 3: To serve, ladle into mugs. If desired, garnish with lime slices.
